Sorority Recruitment Round Three at UGA

Round Three:  House Tours & Getting Closer

Round Three of  UGA’s Fall Panhellenic Recruitment, Round Three—known as House Tours— is your chance to dive deeper into chapter life, explore houses that might feel like home, and make genuine connections.

What to Expect

  • Visits to up to 8 houses: If invited back from Round Two, you'll tour up to 8 chapter houses, typically 30 minutes per visit.
  • Insider access: Sisters will personally guide you through their living spaces—common rooms, study areas, chapter rooms—and share meaningful stories about traditions, friendships, and everyday moments.
  • Casual chats: This is a more relaxed round compared to philanthropy or preference—it’s all about authenticity and how comfortable you feel in each house’s "home" environment.

Dress & Style Guide

  • Recruitment T‑shirt: UGA provides a Panhellenic T‑shirt designed for this round.
  • Bottoms: Style it with a fun skirt or dressy shorts.
  • Shoes: Opt for wedges, sandals, or sneakers—comfort is key given the walking and standing.

Tips to Shine During House Tours

  1. Be your authentic self: PNMs who lean into real conversations and curiosity tend to stand out—not by dramatics, but by connection.
  2. Ask thoughtful questions: Move from surface-level to meaningful: ask about traditions, academic support, philanthropy impact, or everyday sisterhood.
  3. Stay organized: Bring a small notebook to jot down vibes, names, and key takeaways—helps when making your preference list later.
  4. Self-care matters: Bring water, snacks, blotting paper, lip gloss—August heat in Athens can be brutal. Comfortable shoes and energy are essential.

Why Round Three Is a Game

By now, you're past the basic intros and philanthropy talks. This round is about feel.

  • Atmosphere check: Do you vibe with the house’s energy, aesthetics, and interpersonal dynamics?
  • Personal insight: You’ll learn how well you’d fit daily: whether it's communal study, sister dinners, quiet spaces, or loud game-day cheering.
  • Sisters’ perspectives: Meet more active members, get genuine insider viewpoints, and find where you're truly comfortable.

After the Tours: What Comes Next

Following Round Three:

  • Preference Round: You'll revisit 1–2 houses for deeper conversations, rituals, and serious talks.
  • Bid Day: The big day—white dresses, excitement, and matching bids to your new sisters.

 Final Take

Round Three is when everything starts to feel real. You’ve made it through the early rounds, and now it’s less about rehearsed answers and more about where you see yourself. As you walk through each house, pay attention to how comfortable you feel, how genuine the conversations are, and whether you can picture yourself there—laughing on the couch, getting ready for game days, or supporting each other through finals week.

This round isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being you. Trust your instincts, stay open, and remember: the right chapter will feel less like a performance and more like a place you belong.

You’re getting closer to your forever friends. Keep going—you’ve got this!

Xoxo,

Arete
